Who Is Leading The Course?

My name is Nicola Cairncross and I've been a coach in one way or another since 1999 when I signed up for Coach U, which became Coachville.  I studied with the legend, Thomas Leonard, himself.

With a natural bent for marketing from my previous work experience, I never found it hard to attract clients.  I've worked with thousands of clients over the last 25+ years.

Did you notice my wording there? I'm a great believer that it's much easier to attract coaching clients than to chase them.

(I am, quite frankly, repulsed by the marketing techniques being taught to coaches now, one of which involves you private messaging potential clients on social media, using any flimsy pretext to strike up a conversation, then to start coaching someone stone cold!) 

I also love technology and following Thomas Leonard's shining example, I embraced digital marketing from Day One, using a simple 5-page website, some basic SEO, 1ShoppingCart to handle the money and a weekly email newsletter.  

For the last 15 years or so, as the various social media platforms launched, I've incorporated those into my marketing and then taught my successful methods of attracting clients to many different types of business people, including coaches. I've worked with clients as diverse as

After building my first coaching business 'The Money Gym' and then going on to buy, refurbish Worthing's first boutique hotel, I moved on to mentoring and coaching business owners and coaches with their digital marketing.

The last two years have been transformative though, with the advent of Artificial Intelligence.  Like many people, I hung back initially, having a few misgivings about whether it is 'a bad thing' and being an author and creator myself, worrying about whether it would dull one's brain and stifle creativity.

I'm happy to report that it does not. Using AI simply takes a lot of the grunt work out of everything you have to do, to be a successful business person.  It frees you up to be MORE creative and productive, so that you can attract MORE clients to whom you can deliver a better service.
